Program Overview:

You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. With more than 50 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1700 staff, and 2000 volunteers delivering 130+ programs throughout Central and Northern Alberta.

St. Christopher House provides continual residential support to children/youth with developmental or sensory disabilities such as Autism. Clients receive assistance with community integration, basic life skills, community living supports, and behaviour intervention skills in a shared group living arrangement.

About the Role:

This is a part time, twenty-two (22) hours per week position.

As a Child and Youth Care Worker, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of the child/youth, developing service plans, facilitating client contact and home visits, providing counselling and teaching basic life, community skills while ensuring basic needs are met (food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, safety). The Child and Youth Care Worker creates a safe, warm and positive environment where children/youth feel welcomed and loved. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Education and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have an organized and compassionate approach to the work, strong team work skills, a commitment to developing positive supporting relationships, and experience supporting families. Other qualifications include:

Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search, Intervention Record Check and/ or summary of driving record with no more than (6) demerit points are conditions of employment and the financial responsibility of the candidate.

The salary for this position is $22.63 to $25.46 per hour based on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, flexibility and supportive working environment.
